My role is very busy as I am responsible for the day to day management of the store which is a very big and very busy place. I've got a lot of responsibilities and I relish the challenges this role offers.
I give the effective leadership that enables the store to meet the needs of our Core Demand Customers through a fit for purpose range, superb availability and one to one service. I'm accountable for the overall sales performance of my area, ensuring that we maximise sales and margin at every opportunity. This means delivering high standards of stock presentation and housekeeping, ensuring that correct pricing is shown on all products and that the signage in store is in line with company standards.
Each morning, we'll have a huddle where we discuss plans for the day and I have to deliver any relevant communication. After this I may be involved in planning colleague rotas to ensure the store is able to run to maximum efficiency throughout the coming weeks. On a typical day, I'll spend time on the shop floor speaking to colleagues and customers, ensuring the store is operating smoothly and finding out what the issues are. I'm good at thinking on my feet and so I'm not fazed by the many issues that require quick thinking to deal with effectively.
