Vacancies in Customer Service

Are you interested in a vacancy in Customer Service?

Accepting a vacancy in customer service should not be taken lightly, as this demanding role requires many skills including excellent interpersonal ability and great organisational talent.

We would like to introduce Julie, who filled a vacancy in customer service with Makro over 20 years ago!

Since accepting a vacancy in customer service, I have been part-time at Makro for the last 20 years, working mostly in the Media department. My day is really busy with lots to do and I enjoy working in a fast paced, customer focused environment.

No two days are the same at Makro. One day I might be doing a big department move, another I’ll be dealing with lots of different things like doing price changes, making sure that it’s easy to shop, that products are labelled and that the department is fully stocked, clean and tidy. I’ll go wherever I’m needed so I might help out in other departments or go on the checkouts.

My main focus is always the customer so I make sure I greet my customers, ask if I can help and make sure they know about any special offers or promotions. Some customers also phone us to ask about a product or to see if it’s in stock and we offer them just as good customer service as if they were in the store.

Our store works as one big team because we want to make sure that our customers return to us and that they spread the word about our professional, friendly service.
