Stock controller jobs have of a multitude of important daily tasks including receiving deliveries, carefully organising stock onto shelves and accurate stock taking.

We would like to introduce Liz, who took up one of our stock control vacancies:

If good customer service is our number one priority at Makro, stock availability runs a close second. It's my job to ensure the products are on the shelves when a customer comes in, every visit. They're professionals, in business, and they expect nothing less than first class products and first class service.

My daily stock controller jobs include, ensuring everyone's motivated and in the loop as to what needs to be done. The main areas of my role include placing orders to ensure the shop floor is consistently well stocked, negotiating supply chain parameters, setting stock targets and overseeing stock control processes. I'll also work with the buying team to manage suppliers and look for opportunities to sort out issues like slow movers, old stock and mail residuals. But the most important tasks out of all my stock controller jobs is to effectively lead the team - ensuring everyone's properly trained, developed and safe in their work.

Of course no two days are the same, particularly when you take into account seasonal items, promotions and events. We've constantly got to be looking ahead and anticipating what customers might need given their business and the time of year. It's all about getting the balance right.
