We value everyone in every area of our business, because even if you're not directly delivering the exceptional service our customers know and love, you're still playing your part in making it happen.
Meeting the specialist needs of our professional customers involves a lot of hard work and so every now and then we like to let our hair down. To help ensure this happens each of our stores has a social committee with colleagues organising a wide range of activities including nights out, fancy dress days and charity fun runs. We¹re passionate about food and don¹t need much of an excuse to organise a buffet for colleagues to celebrate a special occasion such as an anniversary, completion of a special project or great business results. Regular colleague shopping events are organised too and once a year we give a very special pat on the back to recognise some very special achievements. Each store appoints its own colleague of the year and then our board of directors selects one lucky colleague to be the overall colleague of the year for the UK.
